So halfway through buttons and pain it turns into buttons and shame and when I finished it and bought the actual 4th book it ends the same exact way as book 3? I’m really confused bc I just spent the $7 when i read the whole thing in the last book?? Am I missing something????

I hate when I read a book and it contains errors. She has brown and then is referred to having blue eyes. I also hate when people who read these books for the writer don't catch the grammatical errors. The story line is good but dulls in the middle. Not as good as the very first book. I don't like they have an epilogue in the third book and them it goes back to the past in this book.

AMAZING!!!

**i received a free arc copy in exchange for an honest review.** I'm a huge fan of Penelope. I love her Button series... but this one was by far one of my favorites. I had to reread a couple times because i just felt so emotionally attached to Cane. We get a glimpse of who he is in the earlier books, but now we're entering his mind-- and Penelope has always delivered in terms of story and character development. Can't wait to read more. These books are AMAZING!! 10/10 recommend!

I loved all three books I could not put them down... I was very skeptical that the 4th book was not going to be as good coming from Canes point of view HOWEVER... Penelope knocked it out of the park once again!!! I loved it and finished the book in a day. Can not wait for book 5 in November!!!

The writing, characters, and plot lines are captivating. The POV from Pearl and Crow don't over shadow Canes story but compliment it nicely. I can't wait for the next book!

Wow! It's extremely painful reading about the trade of sex slavery. I've seen documentaries on the subject and it's heartbreaking! Why love? redemption? ....Needs to be centered around this subject matter? I'm so torn. Having said that, it a easy read. It's harsh, tender and hopeful all at the same time. I enjoyed the first series and this is a little more of the same... Tristan is to Bones as Adelina is to Pearl.

Be prepared to get comfortable because there is no stopping once you start this story. It is like a high quality meal and I feasted on every word. The story is so haunting and eye-opening about the illusions of safety and security. I can barely wait for the next installment. I am still in shock that Crow struck Pearl. Great Scott!

Cane's story was what I hoped it would be. He's rough around the edges but his personal strengths shine through. Adelina has a quiet strength that makes for a good heroine. Additionally Crow's and Pearl's POV accents the story. My biggest complaint is cost of the novel. The story is a novella with a full length novel price. Hopefully the author/publisher will take into consideration the length of the novel should reflect in the cost.

Oh my gosh. I loved her other books that were focused on Button and this is amazing. Crow doesn't realize what a reader does by the middle of the book. All I do know is the other books need to come FAST. I don't know home many times I can reread this book!

What a great continuation to the story... AND what a cliffhanger!!! The characters we grew to know and love are still there and we are introduced to other we grow just as fond of!
